Let me start this post out by saying, I think this is my favorite post yet! We had such a fun weekend in Memphis for our friends’ wedding, and we continue to talk about all of the fun we had. I’m keeping with the wedding theme this week on the blog by sharing an outfit that is sure to make you the best dressed wedding guest.
This J. Crew floral two-piece is so much fun to wear! I am not one to show off a lot of skin, and this outfit gives just the perfect peek. The deep green jewel tone is one of my favorite colors, and I accented it with my pink Ray-Ban aviators and pink suede lace-up sandals. I have also become obsessed with lilac nails this summer for some reason. I have kept this polish, OPI’s ‘Do You Lilac It?’, on the entire summer.
I layered my J. Crew twisted pearl hammock necklace with a peach and pink crystal necklace. Layering jewelry is not just for necklaces that hang low, and I love this look up close. We took these pictures on the roof of our hotel, the historic Peabody hotel in Memphis, Tenn. If you ever find yourself in the city, you must go to at least see the rooftop and ducks that live there. It is a fun experience and a well-known place in Memphis.
I also want to tell y’all about the self-tanner I used before we headed to the wedding. The St. Tropez line of sunless tanners is ah-ma-zing! I used the St. Tropez in-shower gradual tan paired with their self tan express starter kit. Those two products are also a great way to get to try out the brand before investing in it. I can really see the difference in the color of my legs and arms in these pictures as opposed to others ones I have taken for the blog this summer. I used to tan so easily, but as I have gotten older I am very cautious about my skin. These days I tend to put on a lot of sunscreen, so I don’t get very much of a tan.
This outfit also lasted ALL night! After going to the most amazing reception at the Memphis Zoo, we partied until the early morning at an all-night disco downtown. It was definitely a night to remember! But maybe not the best five hour car ride back to Baton Rouge the next day.
I’d like to end this post by stating the obvious that it is not easy to take pictures for a blog! I am trying not to be as critical of myself, so taking pictures can be an up and down process. However, I feel like these photos get a thumbs-up, and I love the way they turned out!
