Last week’s Friday Favorites included some of my must-have items that helped get me ready for the start of football season. Today, I am sharing with you my newest purse that I picked up for gamedays – the Henri Bendel mini Jetsetter backpack, which made its way to Wisconsin with me for our first game and that I now wear each Saturday on the sidelines.
Purses have been my thing ever since I was little. I have always LOVED bags. I remember being in the 7th grade and getting a Polo Sport purse for my birthday, and I couldn’t wait to wear it to school. When I got to school the next day I realized I was the only 13-year-old wearing a purse. Sorry, not sorry. My love for bags has only grown stronger (and more expensive) as I’ve become older.
I was happy to introduce this Henri Bendel mini Jetsetter backpack to my collection and to my gameday routine. This bag is a true multitasker, and I was immediately sold on the fact that you can wear it three different ways. When I saw that this bag was not only a backpack but could also be a crossbody, it was a no brainer. I already wear a backpack to and from the stadium, so I can use this as a crossbody for a minute then transform it into a backpack on the sidelines in like two clicks.
You can also take the strap off completely and just have a top handle bag. Ladies, three bags in ONE! There is the option to add a monogram, which is pretty much an essential in the South if it’s offered. I love to have my initials on everything!
This bag can easily fit my travel makeup bag, my steno pad I use for interviews, sunglasses and everything else I need during gameday and on the sidelines. On a regular work day I bring so many bags to work – backpack, lululemon bag of stuff to get ready for interviews, lunch bag, running bag – that it is nice to have a purse with a long strap that I don’t have to worry about carrying on my arm. I pretty much move into work each day and am the resident bag lady.
The lining of this particular color option is a bright purple, which only gave me another reason as to why I needed to purchase this bag. I dressed mine up with a gold oyster tassel keychain from local artist Sallie Bynum Anzelmo. It adds the perfect touch of Louisiana purple and gold to my bag and is a total conversation starter. I have admired Sallie’s art since I first saw it in one of the local boutiques in town, and I knew I had to have one of her gold oysters. It is a little big for my everyday keychain, but I can add it to any bag for a little Louisiana flair.
I wore this Pleione top from Nordstrom for our first game in Wisconsin, my trusty J. Crew pixie pants and my Jetsetter bag. I was comfortable all day in my outfit and had everything I needed throughout the day in my mini Jetsetter. And by all day, I literally mean ALL DAY – from 10 a.m. Saturday morning when we left our hotel in Appleton, WI to go to the game in Green Bay to 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning when I arrived home in Baton Rouge. It was the longest of long days.
This was my first Henri Bendel purchase, and I was very pleased with how quickly it was delivered and the quality of the bag. I don’t know why it took me so long to purchase something from them. Do you have any Henri Bendel items? Which are your favorites? I still have my eye on a couple more items for fall, like this dreamy plaid cape!
