I am by no means a beauty expert. I would actually describe myself more as beauty challenged, but I still love to purchase hair and makeup products with the intention of watching YouTube tutorials to learn how to use them. I am a judge for the Miss LSU pageant this weekend, so I thought I would channel my inner-beauty side and share a few of my favorite beauty brands and products that I am using this month.
DRYBAR TO GO
I love anything that comes in a mini or travel size, especially my favorite drybar products. Blowdrying my hair is one of my least favorite things to do on earth, so once I found the Buttercup blowdryer, I was hooked. Now, I have the same high-powered blowdryer to take with me on the road with this mini baby Buttercup kit. This kit also includes some on-the-go drybar essentials to perfect your blowout even when you travel.
RODAN + FIELDS
I do not sell these products, so this is no type of sponsored plug. I was born with extremely short, stubby eyelashes and have been looking for something to jazz them up for years and years. This Lash Boost serum has worked wonders to grow my eyelashes and fill in my eyebrows. I also love their Micro-Dermabrasian paste. I use it a few times per week in the shower and my skin has never been smoother.
BOBBI BROWN
I have been wearing Bobbi Brown makeup since high school, and I always go back to her products. This tinted eye brightener is my all-time favorite piece of makeup, so naturally it gets discontinued. Why do cosmetic companies do this?! I bought five to hold me over until I find something else to brighten my eyes – I need serious, serious help here, ladies. Also, I can’t wait to try her new Remedies Collection that is all about targeting specific skin issues. I won this mini kit on through the company’s Instagram and am so excited to incorporate them into my new grown-up skin routine…because I am 30 now, you know?
ST. TROPEZ EXPRESS STARTER KIT
I can’t believe I ever actually used a tanning bed (Hello, freshman year! There’s a lot of stuff I did then that I don’t do now, thank goodness.), but there is no question that I have become significantly paler over the years. I would love to be able to lay out by the pool and catch some sun, but again, I am no longer in college. Enter the St. Tropez express starter kit. I was terrified of applying self-tanner, but this kit is easy to use and has immediate results. Also, if applied correctly, you won’t experience splotchiness or that weird orange coloring.
LALICIOUS SUGAR SCRUB
I received some of this body scrub as a thank-you a couple of years ago, and it has quickly turned into one of my favorite beauty products to use and gifts to give. This scrub is made with coconut oil, and the smell is heavenly. I have multiple scents at home, and my skin has never felt softer after using this in the shower.
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! Saturday will be filled with football for me, and then Sunday is a beauty pageant…interesting weekend to say the least! Shea said we need to watch Miss Congeniality to help me get ready to be a judge. Should one of my questions be, describe your favorite date?!
