I shared this top with y’all earlier this week in my Must Have Summer Favorites post, and here it is again with the matching skirt! I’m kind of in love with this J. Crew Ratti happy cat print and wore it two ways in one day while we were in Chicago. I am a sucker for anything multi-colored, so here is look number two of my J. Crew two-piece two ways.
I’m really feeling the trend of two pieces. I especially like the fact that you can repurpose each piece into multiple outfits. You can see how I styled this shirt for my casual daytime look here, and this is how I dressed it up for our night out that same day.
I packed for our trip to Chicago in a carryon. This was a HUGE accomplishment for me. Ok, so maybe Shea had two pairs of my shoes in his suitcase and carried my computer, but still, big success for me. One thing I tried to do was bring pieces that I could re-wear throughout the trip (not being dirty here, just efficient).
Throughout the year J. Crew always comes out with the best prints, and I have to decide which piece I want to buy. For this print, I just had to get both the top and skirt. I like the tulip shape of this skirt and how it is high-waisted. The hem is different than anything else I own, and I also like the little tie detail in the back. Next, I am going to wear this skirt with a t-shirt and tennis shoes or heels.
One of my favorite bags that I own is my Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM. It is a bit pricey but really an investment piece. This wristlet comes WITH the tote bag. That was definitely a selling point for me (as if I needed any more selling points). It goes with pretty much anything and fits my phone, compact, lipgloss and ID cards, so it is perfect for a night out.
I also paired my Kendra Scott rose gold jewelry with this outfit to dress it up a little more than when I just wore the top. My purple nails have been one of my favorite accessories this summer. For the past two months I have only worn OPI’s ‘Do You Lilac It?’. I now understand that lilac pretty much goes with any other color.
Millennium Park was right across the street from where we stayed at the Chicago Athletic Hotel on Michigan Avenue. It is the absolute perfect place to take pictures, and I wish I could walk out my door each day and get my pictures this easily. The greenery, amphitheater, city skyline and lake are all right there.
Don’t mind the straight-lined sunburn on my back! Earlier in the day I wore the top when we went on the architecture boat cruise throughout the city. It was SO hot. Like, I did not anticipate for it to get that hot while we were there. My shoulders look nice and tan, but that is about it. I like to get pictures of the back of my outfits too to show you how they look, and they all just remind me that my posture is not that great! I need to start making a conscious effort to stand up straight.
