This combination of J. Crew pieces is my favorite outfit of the summer! I have literally worn this exact look multiple times, and each piece has become one of my must-have summer favorites. I have these items on repeat wearing them all together and as accents to many other summer outfits.
If you follow my Instagram account or read any of my posts (hopefully there is one of y’all out there!), then you know that I am obsessed with my pink Ray-Ban mirrored aviators and my metallic gold Birkenstocks. My brother has these same sunglasses, and at one point he said he would give me his since they looked so good on me. He never did that, so I had to invest in my own pair, and I L-O-V-E them! They are also used as my No. 1 makeup tip – Wear sunglasses that cover half your face. That way you don’t even have to put on makeup! My No. 1 hair tip – Wear a hat. That way you don’t have to brush your hair. This Panama hat from J. Crew has been my go-to for most days this summer. (You can tell I am no beauty blogger over here!)
My Birks are just the perfect summer shoe, because they go with everything and are insanely comfortable. These are not your momma’s Birkenstocks either. I remember my mom wore Birkenstocks when I was growing up and always raved about how comfortable they were. I now understand, but I am glad they are come in prettier colors.
When I saw this off-the-shoulder top in Ratti happy cat print from J. Crew I knew I had to have it. I liked the print so much that I also bought the matching skirt. It is so fun and colorful and just puts me in a good mood when I wear it. I also like how you can wear it on your shoulders too for a different look. I have really enjoyed the off-the-shoulder look though since it is SO hot in Baton Rouge. It was the hottest day of our trip in Chicago when I wore this top, and it definitely kept me as cool as I could be!
Kendra Scott’s yellow Rayne necklace has also been a staple for me this summer. I wear it with practically everything, and it will get even more use in the fall once football season begins. And, every girl needs a pair of white denim cutoffs! I bought this pair years ago from J. Crew, but they have a pair each year you can buy.
In all honesty with this post, those tips above really are my top beauty tips! Each morning we woke up in Chicago I wanted to put on clothes and get going to see the city. I did not want to spend a long time getting ready to sweat off my makeup and eventually mess up my hair anyway. I wore zero makeup during the days that we walked around town sightseeing and taking pictures. Also, I only wore makeup for two days in June (our friends’ wedding and to see Bravo Andy and Anderson Cooper in New Orleans), and I enjoyed not having to put it on everyday. So, here is what I looked like without makeup or my No. 1 accomplice and best friend (big sunglasses)!
