I truly enjoy the holiday season, and as the youngest of five, I always look forward to being with my siblings at Christmastime. And, while I enjoy all of this, I always tend to get stressed out. There are gifts to buy, travel to coordinate, work to do and the list goes on and on.
Each year my No. 1 New Year’s resolution is to be more patient and not continue to stress out. I am extremely impatient. Anybody who knows me will tell you this. Thank goodness my husband is so patient, especially with me, but I know year in and year out it is something I need to work on. And, what better way to work on that than with some new jewelry. Yes, jewelry to help you be more mindful of patience.
If you have read more than one post on this blog (thank you if you have!), you know that I have a minor obsession with local jewelry designer Mimosa Handcrafted. I went a little crazy during their Cyber Monday sale and picked up two items that are now regulars in the rotation when putting together an outfit. I know this might sound cheesy, but you can just feel the love Madeline and Dawson pour into each handmade piece they sell. Once I saw their new line of essential oils jewelry, I knew I had to have one.
I am a big fan of essential oils. I might not strictly adhere to oils for everything, but I love some lavender to calm my mind and sleep well, peppermint to help me breath when I’m sick and On-Guard to help prevent catching a cold. Now, I can add a few drops to my small O essential oils necklace and keep it with me all day. The terra cotta disc is nestled into their signature bronze setting, and the smell can last up to a few days.
When I purchased my necklace, I also spotted their breath bracelet. There are many times throughout the day (probably more than I would like to admit) where I really just need to take a deep breath and get my attitude in check. The breath bracelet has 12 notches on the bangle to signify 4 counts to breath in, 4 counts to hold your breath and 4 counts to exhale. It is now a constant part of any bracelet stack I wear each day, so I can remember to “just breath”. I am hoping these two pieces of jewelry will help me remember patience as we head into 2017.
With the addition of these jewelry pieces, this entire outfit is effortless and quick and easy to put together. This Abercrombie and Fitch jacket has become a fall staple for me this season because it is light and perfect for this crazy Louisiana weather. Literally it is 40 degrees one day and then 80 degrees the next. This jacket is currently sold out, but I linked some similar options for you below. I also finally jumped on board the lace-up flats trend but it took me finding this perfect pair of BP. pointy toe flats. I felt like some other options made my ankles look funny or I had toe-cleavage! And, this Savvyroot purse is a suede and leather mix that gives you all of the heart eyes emoji feels.
I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas with friends, family, employees and whomever makes you happy! We are flying to North Carolina to see my entire family, so I might need my lavender oil in my necklace to stay calm with almost 20 people staying in one house! It is sure to be a fun time!
