The first official day of spring was earlier this month, and for once, it actually felt spring-y in Louisiana. These days are few and far between down here in the South, so I want to soak up every pretty day there is before temps reach triple digits. This also means that I get to put my spring clothing rack of new items to good use. Crop tops, bright colors, jean skirts, sequins and so much more are about to make their appearance here and on my Instagram!
Shea and I are in Los Angeles for Spring Break, and one of the tops that was definitely packed is this seersucker crop top. I don’t own too many crop tops, but it got me thinking that I actually love them and on how to stye this particular one. Sidenote :: When I wrote my This is 30-Something post, I should have included this little nugget.
31. DON’T LISTEN TO LISTS
When people come up with those lists of what you can and can’t wear at your age, don’t follow them. Those people are boring and don’t know what they are talking about. Wear whatever makes you feel fabulous and comfortable regardless of your age.
I’m sure it says on someone’s pointless list that a 30-something shouldn’t wear crop tops. Well, if you listen to that, boo to you for missing out on a fun spring/summer trend that is wearable at any age! Also, never listen to the “No white after Labor Day” rule…this one annoys me the most!

For me personally, anytime I buy a crop top, I like to pair it with a high waisted bottom…and I mean HIGH. This button-front denim mini skirt ended up being the best option that I already had in my closet. This skirt is high enough to have just a peek of your belly while wearing a crop top, but also looks cute with a shirt tucked in and paired with a fun belt.
Any combination and shades of pink, blue and yellow is one of my go-to spring/summer color palettes (like this outfit here). From highlighter shades to pastels, this combo is fun and colorful for both seasons.
HERE ARE SOME OTHER CROP TOP OPTIONS I’M LOVING FOR SPRING/SUMMER!

Speaking of spring, once we get back from vacation I am going hard on my spring cleaning. Last year I put together a list of how to spring clean your closet, and I am going to expand that to my whole house. If you have any tips, I would love to hear them below. I need to make some way for some new pieces in my closet!
