As I planned our wedding, one of my main goals was to be able to reuse outfits, accessories and other things that I bought specifically for the wedding once the weekend was over. I know a lot of people change into a different dress for their wedding reception, but I wanted to spend as much time as I could in my dress! I knew we would be going out after our wedding, so I changed into a short white dress from J. Crew as we left our reception venue.
Two years later, I still wear this little white dress – LWD! Since this week on the blog is wedding-themed, I am going to show you how to style your favorite LWD to get the most looks out of your dress! When I first wore this dress I was in my wedding Jimmy Choos and had full hair and makeup. Here are three more practical every day looks for your LWD.
(Full disclosure on this post…this was the first day and first outfits I started taking pictures in for this blog. They are not the best of pictures, but we learned a lot that day! And sweat a lot that day!)
My first look is casual with bright pops of color! A jean jacket is a must have accessory for anyone’s closet and the addition of it to this dress is a comfortable way to keep the look casual. I full heartedly believe that my trusty metallic Birkenstocks go with everything, and they definitely give this look a casual vibe. Add some bright pops of colors with this Kendra Scott Rayne necklace and Rebecca Minkoff tassel purse, and you have just the right amount of colorful accents for your LWD.

Rebecca Minkoff mini Sofia tassel crossbody bag (I looked all over for a link for this bag and couldn’t find one that was still in stock…will keep looking!)

I feel very ‘brunchy’ in this next outfit. The mimosa is probably the best accessory for this look, but I do love this rose gold Tory Burch tote. I have always liked wearing rose gold, but I have really become a huge fan of this Kendra Scott jewelry! I have been matching it with more outfits that I thought I would. This military jacket from J. Crew was a great steal a few years ago, and is a perfect layering piece for living in the South. It is comfy and light and can fit in to most of my bags without having to worry about it getting wrinkled.

Chambray shirts are easily one of my favorite pieces of clothing. I think a buttoned-up chambray shirt can be equivalent to a jean jacket. I am a true believer that you can wear chambray every day and in every way. I am also obsessed with layering jewelry. This twisted hammock pearl necklace from J. Crew was a smart accessory investment. When I write a blog post on must have items for your closet, this will be one of them. I wear it all the time. J. Crew also has so many options of crystal necklaces that you can layer right on top of it to add a fun, colorful effect. I learned this when I worked at J. Crew the first time and still use this trick.
Like I have told you before, I am all about getting the most out of my clothes. Putting together these posts on how to style one piece multiple ways helps me put together outfits later on. Which is your favorite way?
