I love a good jumpsuit and they can’t seem to stop finding their way into my closet these days. I am thankful to have a dress code at my office that allows me to wear a variety of different types of clothing. We could be wearing windsuits one day, dressed in a suit for a meeting the next day, and then I also have the opportunity to wear some of my trendy items – in a work appropriate way of course.
One of the reasons I love to wear dresses to work is that I only have to make one clothing choice in the morning. I live for each and every minute in the morning, so this is incredibly helpful. This same reasoning also applies for jumpsuits!
While jumpsuits and one-pieces started out as typically reserved for the weekends, there is no reason why you can’t make certain ones work appropriate as well. Keep your loud prints and cute cutouts for Friday nights out with the ladies, but you can totally dress up your neutral ones for the office. Instead of flats or gladiator sandals, add a pair of heels and a statement necklace. While you don’t want to wear too crazy of patterns to the office, pair a scarf or fun purse to complete your look.
If you aren’t allowed to wear sleeveless tops at your workplace, add a fun printed blazer or solid bright sweater to compliment the neutral shade or pattern of your jumpsuit. I am big into bright colors right now, so this necklace and pair of mules give me just enough color as an addition to my navy polka dots.
I bought this jumpsuit in the spring from J. Crew and it is now sold out, BUT here are 10 other styles I am loving right now that can easily transition from weekend to work.
I am also a huge fan of mixing prints, and summertime is my favorite time to mix it up. Polka dots and stripes – leopard and stripes – florals and polka dots, and the list goes on and on. There will be much more (probably too much) of that coming this summer.
I like to be able to invest in versatile pieces that can transition well into different seasons and environments. What are some trendy items that you make work for the weekend and the office?
