This week I will show you three different ways to style your favorite black maxi dress to wear for any type of day this summer. First up, your favorite black maxi for everyday wear. One of my favorite parts about this look, besides the bright accessories, is the fact that you can take it from day to night exactly as is!
A black dress is like a blank canvas when it comes to mixing and matching accessories, so I thought this was the perfect dress to come up with multiple looks and outfits. One of my goals going forward is to do some more shopping in my own closet instead of always buying new clothes. Weekly shipments of new clothes were becoming a little too normal around our house!
I was on the search for the perfect black maxi dress to wear this summer, and Stitch Fix sent it right to me! I am on the shorter side, so a maxi dress is not the easiest item for me to find. Most of them are too long, and I did not want to have to do any tailoring. This hi-lo hem was perfect for me and would still look great on taller women too. I also love the detailing in the back to give it a little more character. I am sure it would look even better with a quick steam, but I don’t currently own a steamer or know how to iron. (I know, I know…)
I love playing around with pairing different colors together. Most anything goes with black which gives you a lot of options, but I like mixing colors together! One of my favorite color palettes for this summer is bright pink, yellow and turquoise. Together, these three colors can give any outfit just the right pop this summer!
Within that color palette, you will see these same three items on constant repeat for me this summer. I promise I own other necklaces, but this yellow Kendra Scott Rayne necklace goes with so many outfits! My husband got it for me as a gift because of LSU, but it is totally already a constant in my jewelry rotation and football season hasn’t even started yet. Stitch Fix also sent me these pink suede lace-up Diba sandals that I styled here on the blog. I also have my trusty bright blue Gigi all in one clutch. This is a look that can totally go from day to night without having to change your outfit.
Come back throughout the week, because I have two more looks with my same dress black maxi dress! These looks offer some more ways to get the most out of your summer styling!
